  • The Setting For Apple Days
Every year, five-year-old Katy looks forward to Rosh Hashanah, when she goes apple picking
and makes applesauce with her mother. But what happens when their tradition
is interrupted by the arrival of her new baby cousin?

A situation to which every child can relate, Apple Days tells the story about what happens
when a child realizes that long-anticipated plans must sometimes change.
Fortunately for Katy, her many friends – adults and children alike – figure out how to help
in this touching story about a beloved fall custom, disappointment, and the power of community.
Includes Katy's Applesauce Recipe.

An Apple Days Highlight

During the first year of the pandemic our nursery school shut down.  I didn't return to the school for an entire school year.  On my first day back,  I found a large envelope in my staff mailbox. Imagine my delight to discover that it contained a huge hand-drafted note from a kindergarten class at Adath Israel in Merion Station, PA.  All of the children signed their names. This letter sat in my mailbox for over a year!  It was the best surprise to return to after the pandemic closure! I wanted to share it with all of you.

I love to hear from readers of all ages. It's one of the most rewarding parts of being a children's author.
